I’ve never known a place more fond of its firefighters, except perhaps New York after 9/11. These are the same guys who came out below zero the night before New Years Eve to try to save the old Mercantile, after all. When we hear a siren in Dubois, everybody’s ears perk up and I’m sure other people think a prayer.
